40-Day Blessing

The 40-Day Blessing is a cherished Orthodox tradition in which a mother and her newborn child are welcomed back into the church family through prayer. Following the example of the Theotokos bringing Christ to the Temple, this brief service offers thanksgiving, protection, and God’s blessing for both mother and child.
