Patronal Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos Celebrations
Our Church celebrated its Nameday Celebrations of the Evangelismos - Annunciation of the Virgin Mary on March 24th & 25th!
His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Patara presided at the Festal Great Vespers Service on March 24th with the participation of 12 Clergy and 2 Deacons from the Orthodox Churches in Toronto! ON March 25th, His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada presided at the Festal Divine Liturgy and the Doxology of Thanksgiving for the 205th Anniversary of Greek Independence from the Ottoman Empire.
His Eminence was assisted by Fr. Peter Avgeropoulos, Fr. Vasyl Kolega from Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Cathedral and Deacon Innocent Chang.The Consul General of Greece in Toronto, the Honourable Ioannis Chantantonakis read the Panegyric of the day from the President of Greece.
A Reception was hosted by our Ladies Philoptochos and Church Council for the Clergy, the Consul General as well as the President of the Greek Community, Mrs. Betty Skoutakis and Mrs. Zoe Veroutis, the President of the Archdiocesan Philoptochos Board.
